Here we grow again! We are seeking a candidate who is comfortable working in a hands-on and fast-paced retail buying environment. This individual will report to the Director of Merchandise/Supply Chain and will work closely with Buyers, other Supply Chain Associates and two Merchandise Planners/Analysts. This position is a full time position (40 hours per week with some flexibility to the start and end times) and is based in our Home Office in Delta, BC (Annacis Island).
This position works closely with the Director of Merchandise, Buyers and Supply Chain Associates handling administrative functions related to:
Merchandise Purchase Order entry
Working with Buyers on vendor purchases and processing distributions of product.
Communications with our Stores on replenishment needs and planning distributions.
Communications with vendors on shipments of ordered goods and internally with our in–house Distribution Centre.
Administration assistance for Buyers on advertising planning.
Other general office tasks related to the administrative flow of a retail buying environment.
Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Job experience in administrative roles in a customer service focused office environment is an asset.
Any level of retail experience is beneficial and is an asset.
Completion of high school education. Any post-secondary education is preferred.
Intermediate level of computer skills (MS Office)
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must be detail oriented and reliable
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a close knit team.
The right candidate does not necessarily need to have experience in a similar role. With the right attitude, communication skills and moderate computer knowledge, we can train a potential candidate that has a back ground in retail to be part of the Merchandise Buying Team.
